Brittney and Kevin will share with the participants the process of applying for Job Skills Program (JSP) grant funds and the responsibilities of both Skagit Valley College (SVC) and the grantee organization. They will also share some potential topics, as well as perspectives on how best to work with a JSP consultant.

Participants will leave with an understanding of how to apply for a JSP grant, the process and responsibilities, and an understanding of potential topics for JSP grant training.


Attendees will learn:

  • Understand the JSP application process
  • Understand the responsibilities of the JSP grantee organization
  • Understand potential topics and perspectives of a JSP consultant, as well as lessons learned from previous JSP grants




    About the Speakers

    Brittney Maruska (she/her) is the Director of Business and Community Education at Skagit Valley College, where she connects businesses and the community with innovative education and training opportunities. With a background in association management and workforce partnerships, Brittney is dedicated to fostering relationships that empower students, strengthen the workforce, and drive community growth.


    After a 26-year Navy career and a few post-military jobs, Kevin Meenaghan started his own leadership & team development business, Wardroom Success Strategies. In his business, he helps people understand themselves and each other better so that they can be more engaged, productive and happier in their professional and personal lives. He lives in Mount Vernon with his family.




    Attendees earn one (1) recertification credit for SHRM and/or HRCI certifications.
