Share Your Expertise with SHRM Skagit-Island

Help us create meaningful learning opportunities for HR professionals across our region.

SHRM Skagit-Island welcomes experienced HR professionals, attorneys, consultants, business leaders, and subject-matter experts who have practical knowledge to share with our community.

We accept speaker proposals on a rolling basis for our monthly chapter meetings and special events. Whether you have expertise in employment law, talent strategy, leadership, workplace culture, compliance, employee relations, organizational development, or another area relevant to today's workplace, we would love to hear from you.

What We're Looking For

Our programming is designed to provide practical, relevant learning that HR professionals can take back to their organizations and put into practice.

Strong proposals typically:

  • Address a current or emerging issue affecting HR professionals and the workplace
  • Provide practical, actionable insights rather than simply promoting a product or service
  • Offer useful tools, strategies, perspectives, or resources participants can apply in their work
  • Are appropriate for an audience that may include HR professionals, people leaders, business owners, and others involved in managing people

We welcome both new and experienced speakers. Prior speaking experience—including previous SHRM experience—is helpful, but it is not required.

What You Can Expect from SHRM Skagit-Island

If your proposal is selected, our chapter will coordinate:

  • Event registration
  • Marketing and promotion
  • Technology and meeting logistics
  • Chapter meeting facilitation
  • Pre-event communication and coordination

We ask our speakers to respond to communications in a timely manner, arrive prepared and early for their session, and deliver the presentation as approved.

A Note About Compensation

SHRM Skagit-Island is a volunteer-led professional association, and we are not currently able to provide speaker fees or honoraria.

We hope that the opportunity to share your expertise, contribute to the professional development of our local HR community, and build meaningful connections with other professionals will make speaking with us a rewarding experience.

Speakers are welcome to share information about their professional services or organization when appropriate; however, we ask that promotional content, product endorsements, and sales-oriented discussion remain limited during the educational portion of the session.

Ready to Share Your Expertise?

Our speaker proposal takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete. We thoughtfully review submissions within two weeks of receipt.
