Presented by Kurt Oswell, Pension Consultant at Farmer & Betts

This presentation will focus on 401(k) plan design options to enhance the benefits of the plan for plan sponsors and plan participants, and discuss changes in the law from the SECURE Act. Our speaker will provide a review of 401k plans and plan design options to allow for targeted benefits to key employees. In addition, the presentation will highlight changes in the law from the SECURE Act and their impact on 401(k) plans and plan design considerations, including increased tax credits for new plan sponsors, Safe Harbor notice changes and auto-enrollment changes.

2. Analyze enhanced 401(k) design considerations - targeted benefits. 

3. Review SECURE Act and its impact on 401(k) plans. 


Presenter's Bio:

Kurt Oswell is a qualified pension plan consultant with Farmer & Betts Pension Consultants. Located in the greater Seattle area, Kurt has experience running a small business and has been working in the pension administration industry over 15 years. He partners with financial advisors and accounting professionals in the Puget Sound region, Central and Eastern Washington, and Alaska.

Having managed a printing ink business for over a decade, Kurt understands the challenges and pressures that business owners face. He works with entrepreneurs and business owners to design and implement pension plans that meet their short and long term needs. His goal is to make complex opportunities understandable so that his clients can make educated decisions.

Kurt resides in Seattle with his wife and two daughters. As longtime Seattle residents, they enjoy outdoor adventures including hiking and camping. Kurt’s other hobbies include golfing and snowboarding.
