Introducing the SHRM Skagit-Island Summer Book Club (Pilot Program)
This summer, we’re trying something new.
Join us for the launch of the SHRM Skagit-Island Summer Book Club — a casual, community-driven pilot program running throughout June, July, and August.
The goal is simple: stay connected, keep learning, and create space for thoughtful conversation during the quieter summer months. Whether you’re in HR, leadership, talent acquisition, operations, or simply enjoy discussing ideas that shape the workplace and the world around us, we’d love to have you join us.
Participation will be intentionally flexible and low-pressure:
- One featured book selection each month
- Casual discussion opportunities
- Virtual and/or informal meet-up options
- Open to members and friends of the chapter
How It Works
Book Suggestions Open Now
We are currently accepting book recommendations from members and the community through May 27th. Suggestions may include leadership, workplace culture, psychology, communication, business, personal growth, or simply a great discussion-worthy read.
Book Club Registration Is Open
Interested in participating? Register now to join the Summer Book Club pilot.
Meeting Dates Will Be Coordinated with Registered Participants
Rather than selecting a fixed meeting time in advance, we will work directly with registered book club members to identify discussion times that allow the greatest opportunity for participation.
One Book Per Month
The club will meet shortly after each month concludes, giving participants a full month to complete the reading selection before discussion.
☀️ A Flexible, Community-Driven Pilot
This pilot is intended to be approachable, engaging, and low-pressure — a chance to connect with fellow professionals through thoughtful conversation and shared learning.
