Our 2026 Event Focus: Compliance & Connection

As we look ahead to 2026, SHRM Skagit-Island is intentionally designing events with two core priorities in mind: compliance and connection. Our goal is to deliver timely, relevant content that helps members navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment—while also creating meaningful opportunities to connect with peers across our region.

We recognize that HR professionals are balancing full schedules and competing demands. That’s why our programming is built to meet you where you are, offering accessible, practical learning and networking opportunities that fit into your day and support you in your work.

Your input matters to us. If you have a comment, idea, or suggestion for future programming, we invite you to reach out and help shape what’s next (info@sihrma.org). Together, we can build a strong, informed, and connected HR community.

Meeting Cadence & Annual Schedule

To help members and volunteers plan ahead, we aim to maintain a consistent meeting cadence throughout the year. Chapter Meetings are held in the morning on the second Thursday of each month, providing timely programming and opportunities for connection. Board Meetings take place in the morning on the fourth Thursday of each month and focus on chapter operations, planning, and governance.

Our regular programming runs September through June, with a July–August summer break built in to respect personal schedules and seasonal commitments. This structure allows us to deliver high-quality, relevant programming while remaining mindful of our members’ time.
